WATERTOWN -- Christ Church, Watertown’s observance of Ash Wednesday, will feature Hartford Hospital cardiologist and Muslim Coalition of Connecticut President, Dr. M. Reza Mansoor, speaking on the topic, “Penance in Islam.”

Mansoor is frequently featured in the press and electronic media on issues related to the Muslim faith, including both the local and national television networks.  Under his leadership a team of Christians, Muslims, and Jews worked side by side to build “Abrahamic House,” a project for Habitat for Humanity.  It was so successful a second is in the planning stages.

The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut is a social, cultural, and educational organization addressing such issues as homelessness, refugee resettlement and the contribution the Islamic faith can make to American life.

Matter of Faith

Namaste.

Yes, Namaste is a Hindu greeting. But it’s also a word and a gesture that represents the Divine in each of us. The Hindu American Foundation recently released a short video clip that illustrates this powerful phrase.

Director of Development Sheetal Shah said in a press release that she hopes the clip inspires viewers to see the inner light of all those around you, “We hope that this film conveys, not only the idea of Namaste, but also the beauty behind the pluralistic Hindu belief that the Divine resides in all living beings.”
